§ 14-13. Green River Ordinance.

  • (a)

    Solicitation without invitation prohibited. Residents of the city are authorized to place a discreet sign stating "No Soliciting" near the entrances to their residences in a size sufficient to be seen by visitors. In the instance of condominiums and multifamily dwellings, such sign may be placed near each entrance driveway. The practice of going in and upon private residences in the City of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants and transient vendors of merchandise, services, goods, pictures and periodicals in violation of such a "No Soliciting" sign, not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owner occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, and/or for the purpose of disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same, to the annoyance, disturbance, and invasion of the privacy of the inhabitants of such residences is hereby declared to be a violation of this Code. This section shall not be applicable to solicitations by charitable, religious or political groups or candidates for public office.

    (b)

    Personal invitations. Any attempt to obtain an invitation to visit such private residences by personal solicitations or promise of any demonstrations, pecuniary benefit, advantage or any gift shall be deemed a violation of the terms and provisions of subsection (a) hereof.

    (c)

    This ordinance shall be enforced as provided in section 1-9 of this Code.
